Woodside are asking people to help their resident animals as they get their sponsorship scheme under way. The Trust re-houses approximately a thousand animals a year and has a specialised old animals unit for cats and dogs.
The Trust sponsorship scheme is unique, being the only local animal home to offer a variety of different animals available for sponsorship, most of which are able to be visited. Sponsors will choose which group of animals they would like to sponsor. Available is the Hill Billies (goats), The Clucky Crowd (chickens), Pigs Paradise (pot bellied pigs), Horsey Haven (Ponies), The Ba Ba Bunch (sheep) or The Sunnyside Residents/The Snug/Cosy Cats (either of or three special care cat units)
The cost of sponsoring a animal is £60 per year which can be paid monthly or annually. In return you will receive a colour photo and information on the chosen animal group, fridge magnet, keyring and two updates from your group. If you would like to go ahead and sponsor any of the animals you can pay monthly or send a one-off payment to the sanctuary.
When you have chosen the animal that you wish to sponsor please click the link below for a sponsorship form to print and return to us.

PIGS PARADISE:
The sanctuary is currently caring for four Kune Kune pigs.
Gladis arrived at the sanctuary in 2010 when her owner became ill and was unable to care for. She has a unique character and lives in one of our fields with the other farm animals. She loves people but can get over excited and nip people when she thinks someone has food.
Truffles came in with her two piglets Bruiser and Miss Jewels because of her owners ill health. They arrived at the sanctuary at the end of 2011 and have a section of our large field.

BA BA BUNCH:
The sanctuary has two sheep:
Ali arrived with us when she was about six months. Her mum was killed by a car and was then hand reared until old enough to come and live with the sheep we had at the centre.
At first the others were a bit confused by her friendly and playful nature.
Now several years on she behaves like a proper sheep and has grown into a beautiful girl.
Buster has been at the sanctuary for many years and is now quite elderly. His elderly owner was no longer able to look after him.

HORSEY HAVEN:
Whisper is a twenty year old Dartmoor Pony who came in with her daughter and son. They were rescued by their owners, but then their circumstances changed. They have come along way since arriving at the sanctuary and now seem very settled.
Whispers son 'Barney' likes to cause any havoc he can and has been known to run off with the hose when his water is being filled up - leaving the staff soaking wet! He now has been given some horsey toys which he loves - especially the balls that he can throw around.
