Oakley

Oakley is a 1 year old male lurcher. He is a friendly boy who is looking for an understanding home. Typical of his breed, he has a high prey drive and is unable to live with cats. Whilst he is generally good with dogs, he can be a little nervous of large dogs and sometimes too boisterous for small dogs so we feel he would be best suited to a home as the only pet. Oakley has previously lived with children, however he can be boisterous, therefore we feel a home with older children would be most suitable.

He is an affectionate boy who gets very excited to see people. He does suffer from separation anxiety so would benefit from a home with somebody around for a lot of the day, so that the time he is left can be gradually built up. We are working on his basic training here at the Sanctuary and this will need to be continued in his new home. Oakley loves his food, making training fun and enjoyable for him.

As a puppy, Oakley was found dumped in a woodland with his sibling, he also had an injury to his head. Due to this he can be quite fearful of new things so new owners would need to be understanding of this.
