Clyde is a complex boy who needs an understanding and experienced home. Clyde missed socialisation when he was a puppy and as a result we have been unable to get him to understand or trust other dogs. He has been kept as an on lead dog when here and with his previous owner however, he was approached out on a walk while with his previous owner by an off lead dog who despite being warned, continued to bother Clyde, ultimately leading to him snapping and making bite contact. Clyde has also shown unpredictable behaviour towards strangers when out walking which is something that we are currently monitoring at the sanctuary. Clyde will need to be muzzled when out on walks. When he knows and has bonded with you, Clyde’s bubbly and cuddly personality begins to shine. He loves a fuss and belly rubs and likes to be close to people when at home. Clyde also enjoys training and likes to please in which he follows and responds well to basic commands, specifically ‘no’. He is housetrained and fine to be left, although he likes to be able to look out. Clyde’s owner will need to be able to understand his body language.
